The bubble nobody is questioning | Signals and Noise, August 21
This week's Signals & Noise is live. The theme: the AI bubble, and the fact that almost nobody is questioning it. CEOs are promising to cure cancer in five years, telling us money will soon stop mattering, and guiding to $200 billion of revenue by 2030 against a current quarter of $6.7 billion, all with next to no pushback from the press. Bubbles are normal near a top. The size of this one is not.
Premium members also got the instrument showing the ASX 200 is really two bets, with almost 60% of the index in just financials and materials, and BHP and CBA alone making up 21.7%. Own the index and you own a bet on Australian housing and Chinese steel, not the diversification most people assume.
Plus immigration moving to the centre of the property story, countries being told to pick a side between the US and China, and the rare earth knowledge China will not hand over.
This week's podcast and the full show notes are there too.
