Financial Education Membership Programs in Australia

What financial education membership programs are available in Australia?

Options range from free government and not-for-profit programs, like Moneysmart and Saver Plus, through to paid membership programs that combine structured education with ongoing coaching. The right one depends on whether you need foundational knowledge, ongoing accountability, or both.

Free programs: a solid foundation

Moneysmart (government-run) and Saver Plus (a matched savings program for lower-income Australians) are genuinely useful starting points, particularly for budgeting fundamentals and general financial literacy. They're free for a reason: broad reach matters more than depth or personalisation.

Paid memberships: depth and accountability

Paid financial education memberships typically add what free resources don't: structured progression, regular coaching, and a community of people working on similar goals. The value isn't the information alone, it's the accountability and structure around applying it.

What separates a good membership from a mediocre one

Look for clear tiers that match different stages (beginner through advanced), regular live coaching rather than just recorded content, and transparency about what the program can and can't advise on. A program that blurs the line between education and personal financial advice, without an AFSL behind it, is a program to avoid.

How TMM's memberships are structured

We run three tiers, Well 1, Well 2, and Well 3, each building on the last, with a monthly group coaching call included at every level. It's designed as a progression rather than a one-size-fits-all course.

Start smaller first

If you're not ready to commit to a membership, our weekly Signals & Noise newsletter is a low-commitment way to get a regular read on markets and money, free to start, with a premium edition for readers who want more depth.
